Denise Cormier Mahoney
Denise Cormier Mahoney is a contemporary mixed media artist who lives and works in New Brunswick, Canada. Her work focuses on subjects that unite rather than divide us as humans with hopes of bringing harmony and beauty into a world that is becoming increasingly chaotic, cynical and politically charged.
Her work is intuitive and spontaneous and addresses human themes through symbolic imagery. Trees, florals, female figures and animals help her create themes that function as metaphor, linking to her life’s story. She works in acrylic, fabric & paper collages as well as silver & gold leaf.
Denise earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the Nova Scotia College of Art & Design and a Master of Art Education from Texas Tech University. She is a current member of the National Association of Women Artists, the Association of Professional Acadian Artists of New Brunswick, ArtsLink NB and CARFAC Maritime. She enjoyed active membership with the Women Painters of Washington from 2006-2020, and the Federation of Canadians Artists from 2005-2020 while living in Seattle, Washington.
