Ginette Melanson was born in Moncton, New Brunswick in 1977. She currently lives in Dieppe, New Brunswick. Ginette works predominantly in the medium of painting. Her work is inspired by her travel, instincts, nature and actualities; which includes more of lanscapes and figures. Her techniques with palette knives and bright colors captures the audience’s connection with her pieces. Ginette is self-thaught and has benefited from local artists and mentors. Champion of 2017 provincial art battle and was a finalist in 2015 and 2016; she had coverage of her work through the media with Gin&Julz and former painting partner, Julie Arsenault. Ginette will be attending Shankhill Castle Art Residency, Ireland and La Macina di San Cresci Art Residency, Italy in October 2017. Her future solo exhibitions includes BDC Symposium, Dalhousie N.B. in September 2017; Moncton Gallery, Moncton, N.B., and Gallery Nineteen Nineteen, Halifax, N.S., both in the spring of 2018.
