Eric MacIntosh was born in 1959 and lives in Shelburne NS. He developed his interest in art at an early age with help from a local ship model builder Peter Frotten. Peter taught Eric the basics of drawing and painting using a variety of affordable and found mediums.
In 1980 Eric was accepted to study Fine Arts painting at the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design in Halifax. Eric’s painting has been off and on since leaving NSCAD. Eric has just retired from a 32 year carrier as a Conservation Officer for Department of Fisheries and Oceans. Eric has now dedicated himself to painting full time.
Eric’s paintings are in private collections in Ontario, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. Eric’s had a painting shown at the VANS and AGNS show “Far and Wide” in 1998. The painting was displayed at the Art Gallery of Nova Scotia and its annex’s in Yarmouth and Sydney Nova Scotia in 1998 and 1999. Eric has shied away from galley shows and sales. On a few occasions he has shown his work at the Black Duck gallery Lunenburg, The Shelburne County Arts Association gallery, the Osprey Arts Centre and the Lockeport Recreation Centre.
Eric is attempting to acquire and archive images of his life s work. Many of the works are in private collections. Eric has set up a web site to archive his new and old works. His work can be seen at:
